Ladybug tower

Here is my latest creation. A ladybug tower. This one took me 6 hours to carve. There are 4 small ladybugs in between the two larger ones. There is also a hole carved between the 4 small ladybugs. You may be able to see it on the picture that I took with the flash.

Flowers

I have been working very hard on my front flower gardens this year. My star gazer lily was so beautiful and had the most intoxicating scent this year. We have gotten so much rain that everything is doing very well. Now, if I could just keep that pesky little Bumble out of my flowers. The other day she just looked at me, took off and just flew right through the center of the garden at the front of the house. Kind of like a low flying plane going through a corn field. A Bumble 52. Get it.....B-52. Ha.

Peppers

I call this one Chile Peppers in a Hot Embrace. I just liked the shape of the peppers, so I combined two and carved away.

This is the Killer Bee! I finally got him worked out. I know that bees have six legs, but mine only has four. Just pretend the other two legs are under the bee. He has a peace sign necklace on the front and a knife in the back.

Oh, I forgot!!! I got my new camera! LOVE it. I noticed that my garlic sculpture could have a duel purpose. If you turn it upside down, it can also be a jellyfish. I can't decide which way I like it the best.

Garlic

I have been watching my garlic in the garden because it looked like it was getting ready to harvest. This is my first year growing garlic. I knew from what I have read that you have to harvest at just the right time in order for it to store well. Since my mind was wrapped around garlic; I decided to sculpt a concrete garlic. I got a little wild with the leaves, but I like the finished product. I also harvested the real garlic and it looks very nice.

Zippy digging

My camera has finally died and I am awaiting another. In the mean time I thought that I would post this fun little video of Zippy. He loves to dig and his digging usually accompanies a jump right before he pounces onto whatever it is that he is trying to dig up. I try not to worry about what or why and just enjoy the entertainment. He is a little strange.

The leaning tower of peas

I worked on this pea sculpture knowing that it was leaning a bit to one side. I figured it would be a good practice piece.

Ode to the Queen

In honor of the beehives that are visiting our place; I decided to sculpt a couple of bees. The one with the crown of course, is the queen and the other one with the flower hat is the princess. I am also going to do a killer bee, but have not quite gotten the design down.
