Someone help me....

Well...I promised myself that this post would not just be Smudge pictures.

I think that I have failed that promise.

Enjoying a green bean...

Zippy and I have been taking some nice long walks.
Then having Smudge smelling sessions.

Zippy....not me.

How can you not take pictures of this???

You would think that with a face like that she would be a cuddly little angel....
Just look at those sweet little eyes.

You would think...she would never hurt a flea...

Then..

You see this...Little devil.

Shark teeth and all.

Scary!

Okay..
Now..back to reality.

This is a pair of pumpkins that are growing along our driveway.

Way too late to gain much size, but interesting none the less.

I call this porpoise rock.

The photo is a little blurry, but you get the picture.

Smudge had a rough first day of school and had to kick back with a good
book when she got home.

Opal the giant pumpkin..is well....not as giant as I had hoped.

Still a beauty though...just wish she were a little more rotund.
We had a little vine split that caused a slow down.
Maybe Ruby (pictured above) can take up Opal's slack.

Help!!!
I am falling...

Trying to fit into the vine support/plastic container.

Now what you have all been waiting for...
The Smudgios.

Enjoying her first tomato.

Smudge has arrived!!!

We got home yesterday afternoon and I thought it would be best to
go ahead and get Smudge used to her new job.
Pumpkin sitting.

She liked it.

Smelled the flowers.

Enjoyed the peaceful pumpkin patch.

Took a nap.

What????
Wait!!!!
Don't do that!!!
You have to be gentle with the pumpkin!!

Well....Looks like we are going to have to do a little more training.

The big question....What does Zippy think of all of this???
Well...he is taking things slow and did get to see Smudge while she was in her playpen.
He seems very calm and like he wanted to play.
Will keep you posted on future Zippy / Smudge encounters.

Last night at Grammy's house.

Gus of course....loves Smudge.

Gus is a great big brother!

Had to take a nap after all of the activity.

So....just for all of you...
A Smudgeio.

A squirmy situation...

Gus taking a well deserved swim.

Just do not stand too close when he gets out.

A little worm story

The other day while picking snap peas in my garden.
I had a bit of a problem.
I was wearing my Crocs (without socks..of course) and just having the best time standing there
eating and picking peas...when I felt a little coolness on the side of my foot.
I thought...just a piece of grass or a weed...(you see I was standing on straw..about 4 inches of it).
It never occurred to me what it actually was.
A WORM the size of Kansas!!!!!
Before I could register what was happening...
It shot into my Croc like a rocket and went under the arch of my foot!!!!!
Squirming around like the evil little slimy thing that it was.
I was jumping around...peas were flying...along with a scream or two....
and maybe a few other words...
I finally flung my Croc...along with the giant worm across the yard.

It took me a Yuengling and two hours of therapy to get over it.

You see...I have a worm phobia.
For some reason...I don't know why those little critters jump out of the ground at me.
I do not know why they torment me so.

My onion crop.
Or part of it anyway.

My Walla Wallas are really nice this year.
I knew that old Charleston Forge bakers rack
would come in handy some day.
A pretty classy onion dryer...if you ask me.

We are the only folks around with a Parkway tag on our Gator.
(Don't tell LTM or he will have to get one too.)

Zippy and I took a walk up to my neighbor's property the other day.  I needed a break after the (shudder)...
worm incident.

It is almost a mile walk one way.

Guess who followed me??

Scatter cat!

She had a great time and took a long cat nap afterwards.

This is Oracle.
He is a "special" horse.
We got him from a very special family member and he means a lot to us.

He is a wild man.

Almost to the point of being a little crazy.
I really just think he is a genius.
He is a lot like Zippy.

Even the others think he is a bit nuts.

Always entertaining and always perfect when we ride.
His wildness is really more of a playfulness.
A curiosity.
A personality the size of Earth.
All in one small little Paso Fino package.

He and Zippy are two animals that share a certain....how shall I say this...
Loose bolt.

Always into something.

The funny thing is that they seem to have a kindred spirit.
They like each other, but they also are a little scared of each other.

"They" played this little game the other day.

Zippy rolled the ball under the fence.

Oracle chased it.

Then I retrieved it........Somehow I became involved.
Then I had to throw the ball for Zippy....

Then it all started again.

This photo shows Oracle's true spirit.

I just liked this shot.
Otis.

Zippy says......No Pupdate
because....
we are picking her up tomorrow!!!!!!

Stay tuned for a cuteness extravaganza.
Thank you Lee Ann for the fantastic bag of goodies for little Smudge!!!

Also a note about my friend in the hospital...She is still there and still fighting hard.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

A little fairy tale and a long awaited PUPDATE.

Once upon a time...in a land far far away.  There lived a Bull Terrier named Zippy.
He was a fun loving fellow that enjoyed many a fine frolic
through the open fields and meadows.

Then one fine day...he went out to play.
He looked high...he looked low
but he could not find his ball.

Where did it go??...He did not know.
Then he looked down...and guess what he found??

Not one, but TWO red balls!

The end.

I have been trying to grow some Chinese noodle beans.
I planted early, but I am just getting blooms.  I hope that they produce.
It seems a little late to me.

My vegetable garden is looking pretty wild.
Just pulled onions and have been harvesting beans and peas.

There is a fungus among us.
I found this beautiful...whatever it is...
in the woods the other day.

Drum roll please........

What you have all been waiting for...
A
PUPDATE
This really is what we have all been waiting for.
I waited to post this weekend until I received these unbelievably cute photos.

Just look at that face!!!

We get to pick her up in only a few short days.

What the???

What on earth is that???

Someone really needs to talk to that dog...

I have never seen anything like it.

Look Otis!
That dog is nuts.

Yeah...whatever...
We already knew that.

Trying to jump over the pumpkin.....Ha!!

Excuse me Miss...
What do you think of the recent news of the dog jumping over the pumpkin???

Sir....What do you think of it??

Miss....please give me a comment.....

Oh well....

Even the deer don't know what to say.

The end.
