This is what Zippy did for Thanksgiving.
He does not play well with others.
Because of this little "problem", I always try to take him out for a long walk
before we leave for holiday festivities.
It is his way of celebrating and I get to see some pretty scenery.
Our peaceful breath before the storm of activity and feasting.
The mushrooms are still going strong....although they are a bit slimy.
A very interesting tree with barbed wire.
I even let Zippy wade through his most favorite mud hole.
It was Thanksgiving....
The weather here has been incredible.
Happy Thanksgiving horses!
Happy Thanksgiving minis.
Smudge...ready to hit the road.
A beautiful barn on the way to the family celebration.
Move over Gus! You are taking up the whole backseat.
Labradors....you just can't travel with them..
On the way to the feast.
My sister and my niece.
About a second after this was taken...Smudge was frightened by a loud noise and
ran for the hills.
Oh my!!!
Those ears...
After all of the celebrating was over, we decided that a horseback ride was in order.
After all....the weather was perfect and well...we just do not have that may perfect weather days
this time of year.
Oracle wearing his new Renegade boots.
We had to modify them to fit his little feet.
Man oh man....I LOVE my horse!
Eco is so much fun to ride and nothing in this world makes me feel better than
to be on my horse. All of your worries just disappear.
Not to mention the adrenaline rush you get when you are having such a good time.
I think everyone has that sort of feeling when they are doing something that they love.
Danza (25 years old) was really kicking up her heals when we got home.
She really was unhappy with us for not taking her.
She even had a few words to say about it.
Poor little thing.
Here she is....happy again and all is well with her world.
Smudge had the pleasure of meeting Bumble's sister, Maggie.
They really had a great time together.
Maggie lives with Merle who also visited.
Zippy enjoying yet another beautiful day.
Nice weather....I will miss ye when you are gone.
(I miss it already....we are having heavy rain and high wind)
The kids enjoying their Thanksgiving pumpkin.
Zippy jumping for joy.
A parting shot of Smudge and her new smudges.
Just look at the constellations on that heavenly body!
I think that I can spot the Big Dipper.
Ha ha ha...
Oh my word! You take some great pictures Ms. Jill. Even the horsie was smiling. Smudge we have a feeling you are going to be as big as Gus or as big as your great punkin. What a purfect day. We are so Happee you got to play with Bumbles sister. Zippy bet you miss your BFF playing in the mud with you

What beautiful pictures! We are so happy that you got to meet Maggie, Smudge!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Hey Jill. We have had beautiful weather too, but that is going to come to an end by the weekend. That Zippy is one jumping fool! And Smudge is getting so big! I feel the same way about riding. It puts you in another place. All your critters look great.
ReplyDeleteWe also enjoyed beautiful weather and definitely took advantage of it. We've also had rain and very high winds. Today? A dusting of snow.
ReplyDeleteWhat great photograps!
You sure make me want to go out for a ride!!
ReplyDeleteSmudge is getting so big.
Hi - my name is Stewey! I'm a Corgi who has quite the wardrobe! Anyway, I was taking a stroll through blogville and came upon your blog. I really like your Thanksgiving post!
ReplyDeleteStop by sometime to see my Thanksgiving post - I'm dressed up as a turkey :)

Beautiful pictures and so glad you got to enjoy the weather!! We are freezing in Savannah - I think it is a psychological thing as if it was this temperature in the mountains, it would be no big deal. I love seeing Smudge and Gus together - she strikes me as the spoiled little kid pestering him and he is such a good sport!
ReplyDeleteZippy must have springs in his feet!
ReplyDeleteLil' Miss Smudge's ears are sooo precious... I just want to squeeze her!
Looks like a fun time was had by all. Zippy is such a great jumper! We enjoyed Thanksgiving with our friends in Walnut (Marshall), NC. We had a week off to continue our search for the perfect farm. The weather was SO enjoyable.
ReplyDeletePoor Zippy and his socialization...oh well..at least a walk all alone with you works...your feeling when riding a horse really is the best isn't it...I wish I could learn to love horseback riding...not enough practice. Smudge is showing her constellations I see as she grows older...loverly!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than a photo of a Zippy bounce! I'm glad you were able to get in a trail ride. I'm afraid I won't be seeing any riding outdoor days for awhile. But you never know, sometimes after a fresh snow, it can be gorgeous out and I love riding through fluffy stuff -- so much lift!
